Based on her background as a nurse, trade union activist, coordinator of AIDS education activities by the trade unions in the garment factories of Lesotho and Swaziland, voluntary counseling and HIV testing provider in a union-based worker's clinic in South Africa, and AIDS support person to her peers, Ms. Ndlovu will describe the unique role and challenges faced by the labor movement in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Southern Africa.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, the participant will be able to: 1) Recognize how the labor movement’s access and relationship with workers and their families uniquely positions trade unions to address global health issues. 2) Describe the labor movement’s potential and practical contributions to global health issues in South Africa, Lesotho, and Swaziland. 3) Link with trade union resources for partnering on global health initiatives.
