166613 Teaching Population Health as a Basic Science

We developed a new course, required for first year medical students, to teach skills and content in clinical epidemiology and population health. A variety of learning formats were used, including large group lectures, smaller sections and tutorials, and a role-play simulation of an avian influenza pandemic.

Learning Objectives:
Assess the appropriateness of a variety of learning formats in pre-clinical population health education in medical school.
