Participants will be exposed to data describing the current stats of maternal and child health globally. This overview will focus on recent advances in maternal and child health, focusing on gaps in program development and services provided. The presentation will also cover notes from the field, which will explore challenges and success faced by previous attendees of the MCH Institute. Finally, the presentation will describe the growing literature on how best to implement effective evidence based MCH programs.

Teaching Methods:

This session will incorporate didactic teaching methods including a short lecture guided by PowerPoint slides, followed by questions and answers from the audience. Also to include role-play exercises.

Objectives:

By the end of this presentation participants will be able to:

1. Describe progress made in the field of MCH globally

2. Recognize issues faced from previous attendees and illustrate methods to prevent similar occurrences.

3. Practice MCH advocacy strategies
