Participants will learn about the multiple, complex sources of influences on teen driving: driving ability, developmental factors, personality factors, demographics, the perceived environment, and the driving environment. Successful interventions to address teen driving can be developed that are comprehensive and multilevel, targeting the influences on teen driving that are amenable to change. This session will prompt and enhance participant's skills in developing an effective public health program- to address teen traffic safety. It will present information on evidence –based programs and highlight what methods have been effective in reducing automobile injuries and fatalities

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this presentation participants will be able to: · Describe successful evidence based interventions for teen drivers. · Apply evidence-based approaches to traffic safety programming (as presented) · Identify evidence-based components necessary for an effective traffic safety prevention program
