The purpose of this presentation is to review the challenges of medical practice in multicultural populations, how to apply the Kleinman model in the clinical setting and to present the "RESPECT" model developed by clinicians at the Boston Medicla Center to deal with this issue. The contruction of the qualitative portion of the questionnaire of the Haitian Breast Cancer Control study and how participants were recruited in a difficult to reach population will also be discussed.
