This presentation will examine a range of methodologies used to 1. Study prison and jail health care systems and 2. Understand how correctional systems as unique environments can constrain or create health or risk of illness and/or trauma among prisoners.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize ethical constraints on the conduct of public health research in American correctional institutions 2. Identify solutions to methodological challenges in conducting health research in American prisons and jails 3. Understand data presentation formats which create public accessibility to jail and prison health research.
