A previous study found an association with the existence of Special Healthcare Taxing Districts and reduced mortality for major causes of death in Florida, 1992-1996. This presentation will provide results of an updated study (2000-2005) undertaken to improve on the previous study by providing more detail on health related revenues and expenditures inside each of the 67 counties, and by focusing on the racial and ethnic disparities in health status outcomes.
