Successful Learning Institute (LI) courses provide attendees with the information and methodology necessary to replicate a particular technique, procedure or activity in their own practice or research setting. This presnetation will focus on the key elements of a successful LI, which typically include 1) a "how-to" presentation written from the learner's perspective; 2) a set of interrelated modules beginning with a session overview; 3) a variety of learning modalitites, such as audience participation, small group discussion, tabletop, etc.: 4) regular checks to assess the learner's understanding and progress; 5) comprehensive handout materials; and 6) detailed evaluation. Expameples from past successful LI courses will be provided.
