167136 Overview of the Process for Developing and Submitting a Course ProposalMonday, November 5, 2007: 11:15 AM
Successful Learning Institute (LI)courses provide attendees with the information and methodology necessary to replicate a particular technique, procedure or activity in their own practice or research setting. This presentation will focus on the key elements of a successful LI course, which typically include 1) a “how-to” presentation written from the learner's perspective; 2) a set of interrelated modules beginning with a session overview; 3) a variety of learning modalities, such as audience participation, small group discussion, tabletop, etc.; 4) regular checks to assess the learner's understanding and progress; 5) comprehensive handout materials; and 6) detailed evaluation. Examples from past successful LI courses will be provided.
