Biographical Sketch: Maria Seguí-Gómez, MD, MPH, MSc and ScD is a graduate from both the University of Barcelona´s School of Medicine and Harvard University’s School of Public Health. Since 1993 her work has evolved around the epidemiology of injuries and effectiveness and efficiency of preventive interventions, in particular on motor vehicle injuries. She was Deputy Director of the Harvard Injury Control Center before she moved to Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she was a core faculty of the Injury Control and Research Center and still holds an adjunct associate professor appointment. In November 2002 she joined the faculty of the University of Navarra where is tenured. Her research agenda has led to the establishment of the European Center for Injury Prevention. Besides her peer-reviewed publications, she teaches numerous injury-related courses and actively participates in several professional organizations.
