Biographical Sketch:
Miguel Muñoz-Laboy is Associate Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University. Dr. Muñoz-Laboy’s research has focused on the cultural and structural dimensions of HIV and sexual health-related risks among a number of different ethnic and sexual minority urban populations in Puerto Rico (1994-1996), Kandy, Sri Lanka (1997), Connecticut (1996-1998), New York (1998-present), Brazil (2001-present), and Vietnam (2008-present). His areas of research and program design include: bisexuality, masculinity, urban culture, religion, social inequalities, formerly incarcerated populations, adolescence health, and young men's health. He currently directs the doctoral program in public health and sociomedical sciences (DrPH) at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.
