Biographical Sketch:
Susan Albertine is Vice President at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). She has been a professor of English, a dean, a vice provost, and a school teacher. Albertine’s recent collaboration on undergraduate public health education makes a case for the value that 19th-century literature—and liberal education as a whole—can bring to study of public health and global sustainability. Active in an array of baccalaureate and PK-20 reform initiatives, Albertine is a national leader of the Educated Citizen and Public Health, a collaborative project co-sponsored by AAC&U, ASPH, APTR, and other organizations. Albertine has published a number of recent articles on integrative public health study and has co-authored with Richard K. Riegelman Recommendations for Undergraduate Public Health Education (APTR and AAC&U 2008).
