Biographical Sketch: Alexa Stuifbergen, PhD, RN, FAAN is Interim Dean and the Joseph Dougherty Jr. Centennial Professor in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Dr. Stuifbergen has been active in research related to health promotion and quality of life for persons with a variety of disabling conditions for more than 20 years. She has developed and tested interventions to enhance health promoting behaviors and she is presently in the 13th year of a longitudinal study of persons with multiple sclerosis.
