Biographical Sketch:
Soledad Liliana Escobar-Chaves is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Public Health. She was born and raised in Cali-Colombia. She came to Houston as a WHO fellow to work at the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research, University of Texas School of Public Health on a violence prevention project. For both her Masters and Doctoral research projects, she conducted fieldwork with adolescents in schools in the Houston area. Her research interest focuses on the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-based and family-based health promotion programs related to media, violence, obesity, and sexual risk behavior.
