Biographical Sketch: Amanda Vogel Biosketch for APHA 2009, Session 204700: Dr. Vogel recently completed her PhD in Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her dissertation research explored the long-term sustainability and impact of community-engaged learning – specifically service-learning – in health professions education. For this work, she conducted a ten-year follow-up study of the Health Professions Schools in Service to the Nation program. It was the first and only national demonstration program for service-learning in the health professions. Today, she is presenting selected findings from her research. Dr. Vogel is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute.
