Biographical Sketch: Neetu Chawla is a PhD candidate in the Department of Health Services at the UCLA School of Public Health. Her research focuses on health disparities, cancer prevention and control, and access to health care. She has worked in the area of health disparities in a variety of settings, including teaching hospitals serving low-income populations, non-profit and community-based organizations, the World Health Organization, and the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. Neetu is currently at the UCLA Division of Cancer Prevention and Control Research. Her dissertation research is a qualitative study focusing on the social networks and patient-provider relationships of South Asian breast cancer survivors and has been funded by the National Cancer Institute and the UCLA Graduate Division. Neetu has co-authored several articles, policy briefs, and fact sheets focusing on health disparities and chronic disease prevention. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s degree from the Community Health Sciences department at the UCLA School of Public Health.
