Biographical Sketch:
Mia Luluquisen, DrPH, MPH, RN is the Deputy Director, Community Assessment Planning and Education/Evaluation (CAPE) Unit of the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD). She directs the community capacity building, health education, Public Health 101 staff trainings on addressing health inequities, and participatory action research and evaluation projects. Dr. Luluquisen has been the primary developer of three PH101 modules on cultural competency/cultural humility in health care, undoing racism and community capacity building for health and is the lead manager in ACPHD’s participatory strategic planning and implementation process that began in 2006. Dr. Luluquisen has taught in the Masters of Public Health program and undergraduate Division in Community Health Education at San Francisco State University. Over the past 25 years, Mia has provided program planning and evaluation technical asssistance, trainings and facilitation to numerous health, education and social justice organziations in the U.S. and Canada. She received her Doctor of Public Health in Community Health Education and Masters in Public Health in Public Health Policy and Administration from University of California, Berkeley. Her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing is from the University of San Francisco.
