Biographical Sketch: Patricia Siplon is a professor of political science at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT. She began conducting fieldwork on the problems of AIDS treatment access and water scarcity in rural East Africa as a Fulbright researcher in 2005, and has continued to work to explore these problems in partnership with a Tanzanian NGO, the Ilula Orphan Program, and her students each subsequent summer.
