Biographical Sketch:
Mathilda Ruwe, MD, MPH, Ph.D. Dr. Ruwe is a Senior Research Scientist and a Faculty Research Development Consultant at Central Valley Health Policy Institute, California State University, Fresno. (CVHPI). She is also the Health Information Analyst for the Central California Obesity Prevention Program funded by the California Endowment and evaluation Liaison for a Robert Wood John’s San Joaquin Valley Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Program. She is a specialist in health policy and health services research and an expert in chronic disease care and health disparities. Dr. Ruwe has over 15 years experience in health systems, outcomes, economic and behavioral health research at local and national levels. Dr. Ruwe's role at the CVHPI includes helping improve regional health capacity through research and development. Her areas of health research has included cancer among elders and opportunities for preventing disparities, lifestyle modification and coronary artery disease and policy applications, race and gender disparities in access to coronary artery disuse care, children of immigrant’s access to care, disparities in prenatal care in California an impact of Medicaid expansion and has co-authored books chapters and journal articles in these areas. She currently is working on the complex systems methodology as framework for policy and
