4049.0 Improving Children's Health Through Policy and Financing Strategies

This session will provide the participants an opportunity to hear presentations on stategies to address early childhood services and promising policies and programs that support young families. Finally no health policy session can be complete without a discussion about insurance coverage.
Session Objectives: At the completion of this session, participants will: 1. Identify potential policy interventions that may influence health insurance coverage and access to healthcare for low-income children. 2. Identify the health care policy changes brought about by the implementation of PWORA 3. Describe strategies states are using to support community-level early childhood service systems. 4. Discuss innovative methods and promising practices in linking policies and programs that support young children and families.
