This session presents recent research on SIDS and infant mortality, including geographic and race/ethnic differentials. Potential intervention strategies are also examined.
Session Objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to: 1) Describe geographic and race/ethnic-specific trends in US infant mortality. 2) Evaluate the impact of interventions such as home visiting programs, and clinician continuation education programs. 3) Discuss the accuracy of SIDS diagnosis.
