Business Meeting
The Ethics Forum SPIG (Special Primary Interest Group) business meeting is the primary transaction for electing the Chair Elect for 2007-2008 (advanced to Chair 2008-2009); discussing programmatic and pragmatic needs of the Ethics Forum; discussing and evaluating membership and recruitment; discussing lacunae in the current year's sessions; and for initial planning towards sessions for the next annual meeting. Planning includes identification and discussion of the next annual meeting's focus; articulating sessions consonant with that theme (oral, roundtable, poster); recruiting abstract reviewers and other functions. Participants have an opportunity to advance the Ethics Forum over the next year (two years for the Chair Elect). All persons who are members of the Ethics Forum, interested in joining the Ethics Forum, or interested in learning of opportunities to contribute to the Ethics Forum are cordially invited to attend.
Session Objectives: * Learn about the Ethics Forum SPIG (Special Primary Interest Group). * Understand the relationship between the number of members identifying the Ethics Forum as a primary or secondary area of interest and the number of sessions allotted to the Forum. * Participate in the Ethics Forum SPIG by joining, running for office, contributing to program session planning, submissions, abstract reviews or communications. * Identify and participate in opportunities to enhance Ethics Forum SPIG communication functions using APHA-based platforms.
