The Peace Caucus invites abstracts for presentations and sessions on a broad range of topics relating to peace and social justice, health and human rights. We are soliciting papers that will resonate with this year's conference theme "public health without borders." Examples include abstracts that examine the short and long-term regional impacts of the war in Iraq and other areas of conflict; linkages between peace, labor and public health; physical and mental health effects of the war in Iraq on civilian and military personnel and their families; and the impact of homeland security measures on civil liberties and human rights. Other topics of interest include the opposition to US military recruitment strategies at schools, at APHA, and through advertising campaigns, and the inter-relationship of energy policy, militarism and global climate change.
