The purpose of this presentation is to describe the health insurance data collected in the MEPS. Health insurance data collected in the MEPS Household Component and Insurance Component will be described. Information on the different types of health insurance estimates (point-in-time, ever, full-year, spells of un- insurance) will be described. Information on how MEPS estimates compare to other national surveys and the National Health Accounts will be provided. Research examples using MEPS insurance data will also be provided.

The participants would be able to list the analytical capabilities of MEPS as it relates to health insurance status.
