177314 Publishing Occupational Health and Safety Research: A Dialogue with Journal Editors

This panel will be a dialogue between editors of journals that publish peer-reviewed research articles on occupational health. The panelists will provide a short description of each journal in terms of occupational health and safety issues covered, its review criteria, the types of paper commonly published, the journal readership, etc.

In addition, they will assess the current status of occupational health and safety research and major issues that need to be addressed by the journals and the section.

The panel will end with a discussion of the opportunities for closer collaboration between the journal editors and the Occupational Health section of APHA..

1.Identify journals that publish peer-reviewed occupational health and safety research articles 2.Describe priority research topics of interest to journals. 3.Articulate the peer-reviewed process used by journals. 4.List criteria used by editors to accept or reject articles. 5.Discuss new health and safety issues that should be included in the agenda of the journals.
