Teaching and Learning Policy, Politics and Public Health Nursing with DEMN CNL Graduate Students

The purposes of this session/presentation are: a) to describe a variety of challenges associated with teaching Policy, Politics, and Public Health Nursing to Direct Entry Masters in Nursing Clinical Nurse Leader students who bring unique characteristics and knowledge to nursing; b) to engage in and interact around strategies found successful in educating students with undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields other than nursing; and c) to discuss how strategies for learning in the classroom may have differed from those in nursing practice.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the session the participant will be able to:
1. Describe challenges associated with teaching Direct Entry Masters in Nursing Clinical Nurse Leader students in the classroom and nursing practice.
2. Discuss successful strategies for learning when educating students with undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields other than nursing.
