188831 US Government Involvement in Health Issues in Vietnam

The US government has an ongoing effort to assist in improving health conditions in Vietnam. This includes work on prosthetics for those in need, whether from war related injuries or other causes; immunizations; AIDS prevention and treatment; and Agent Orange with its dioxin contaminant. These activities are coordinated by scientific and health experts from the USA working with Vietnamese experts with a locus in Vietnam at the US Embassy in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Current work on dioxin laboratory capacity building and other capacity building work will be described as well as work on studies concerning remediation of dioxin contamination from Agent Orange in certain locations.
