189644 Impact of a public health credentialing program on local public health

This session will highlight potential opportunities and challenges and raise the question of unintended consequences for local public health associated with advancing a credentialing system for Graduates of CEPH accredited Schools of Public Health and Graduate Public Health Programs. It will also minimally examine how this effort may influence future workforce recruitment, training and retention programs as well the implications, if any, on local public health agency accreditation and performance.

Describe the potential and differing perceptions of possible impact of this effort on public health recruitment, training, and retention as well as public health system performance and accreditation at the local level.
