190087 King County Equity and Social Justice Initiative: Working toward fairness and opportunity for all

This presentation reviews the three levels of action in King County Equity and Social Justice Initiative: (1) County policy development and decision-making that intentionally promotes equity in the development of policies and programs; (2) delivery of county services that include new activities across all departments to promote equity and to incorporate community voice in shaping delivery of services and (3)development of effective community partnerships that serve as a catalyst to mobilize communities and spur actions.

This presentation describes facilitative factors that launched the initiative, challenges encountered, lessons learned for establishing, maintaining and sustaining agency and community-level change to achieve equity and social justice.
