This presentation describes the results of a “cross walking” activity compared the CUP health education competencies updated in 2007 with those developed in 2006 by the Association of the Schools of Public Health. This required taking each competency from the ASPH set and matching it with all of the competencies within the CUP. This was by comparing the competency language in the following ways: (1) assessing level of ability or skill as evidenced by the choice of the verb; (2) assessing content and its complexity that completes the competency statement; and (3) examining the relationships among of the other companion competency statements within its domain.

Learning Objectives:
Describe the process of cross walking competencies developed by the health education profession with those developed by Association of Schools of Public Health.
