Social injustice has profound impact on many aspects of health. Public health professionals can do much to alleviate social injustice in its many forms and to reduce the health consequences of social injustice. Progress in the attainment of the Healthy People 2010 Objectives for the Nation and the Millennium Development Goals are measures of the alleviation of specific examples of social injustice and their health consequences. This presentation will focus on the progress, and the failures, over the past 3 years to address social injustice, using the mid-course reviews of the Healthy People 2010 Objectives and the Millennium Development Goals.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to describe recent national and international developments in addressing social injustice.
