Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sinai is a Senior Research Officer at the Institute for Reproductive Health and research faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University. Her research interests focus on fertility awareness based methods of family planning (FAM). She is part of the team that developed and tested the Standard Days Method, and the TwoDay Methods. Both methods offer women a simple way to identify the days each cycle when they are most likely to become pregnant. Users avoid unprotected intercourse on these days to prevent or delay pregnancy. Dr. Sinai’s research on FAM includes efficacy field trials, Operations Research and introduction studies to test various ways of integrating the methods into family planning and reproductive health services, studies examining the impact of introducing the methods, and scaling-up studies. Her other research interests include gender and women’s empowerment.
