Biographical Sketch: Sudha Xirasagar , MBBS, PhD (Phonetic - Sue-dha Ksheerasaagar)
Dr Xirasagar received her doctor of medicine degree from Bangalore University, India, and received her PhD in Health Services Policy and Management at the University of South Carolina in 2002. Prior to her doctoral work, Dr Xirasagar had practiced medicine, worked in public health and health management research and training including in India's National TB Institute. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Policy and Management at the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health. Her current research interests include health disparities particularly colorectal cancer screening, physician leadership, provider behavior and care outcomes in relation to health policy and environment characteristics, and food defense.
