Biographical Sketch:
Molly De Marco is a research associate at the Center for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has research experience in the study of neighborhood effects, poverty and food access, health disparities related to class and race, and sustainable agriculture with a particular focus on rural communities. She conducts community-based participatory research throughout North Carolina on issues such as church and school-based gardens, community health partnerships, racial health disparities, and local food systems. In addition, she has examined the relationship between neighborhood context and social service use with data from the Three-City Study and co-authored the systematic review on how neighborhoods are defined in rural communities, which she reports on this morning.
