Biographical Sketch: Umair A. Shah, MD, MPH
Dr. Umair A. Shah is a board-certified internist with extensive emergency department and disaster experience. His large-scale disaster experiences include responses to TS Allison; Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike; and the devastating earthquakes in Kashmir and Haiti. He is a member of National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) Health Equity Coalition and chairs NACCHO’s Global Health Workgroup. He is currently the Deputy Director of Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services (Houston, TX), the county health department serving the third most populous county in the United States.
