Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sistrom received her PhD in Public Administration and Policy with a minor in Medical Anthropology from Portland State University in 2008. She received a masters in Community Health Nursing from the University of Virginia in 1987, and a bachelors degree in nursing from Oregon Health & Sciences University in 1985, where she is currently an Associate Professor of nursing. Dr. Sistrom has worked in various public health nursing, epidemiology and management positions--usually in communicable disease--in Virginia and in Oregon. She now works in infection control in bush Alaska for a remote Native Health Corporation. When the satellite cooperates, she continues to teach on-line for OHSU School of Nursing and the Oregon Masters of Public Health Program.
