Biographical Sketch:
A board-certified eye surgeon and health policy specialist, Dr. Chandak Ghosh is with U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). His work led to the development of HRSA’s National Performance Review Protocol, utilized to improve over 2000 Federal healthcare grantees, including hospitals, universities, and community health centers. Dr. Ghosh’s commitment to optimize healthcare quality for underserved populations has led to numerous publications and presentations about health disparities, health communication and literacy, quality measure development, and diabetic ocular disease. In 2009, He has received the Outstanding Service Medal, one of the highest awards from the U.S. Public Health Service, for “groundbreaking policy research of national significance.” After completing undergraduate studies at Yale, Dr. Ghosh received his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia in 1995 and Masters in Public Health from Harvard University in 2000.
