Biographical Sketch:
Anne Short, Alliance for Health in Cleveland County, Inc. Anne Short is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Health in Cleveland County, Inc. She was a partner in the organization of the Alliance in 1995 and served as a member of the Steering Committee until assuming her role as Director in August, 2003. Under her leadership, the Alliance has become an independent, non-profit entity and collaborates with its member partners in addressing multiple health issues in the county. The Alliance serves as the county’s Healthy Carolinians task force and promotes initiatives in cardiovascular health, adolescent pregnancy prevention, substance abuse prevention, asthma and overweight/obesity. Anne holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Queens University and a Bachelor of Arts from UNC-Greensboro. She served as community planner for United Way of Cleveland County and as Community Development Director for Cleveland Center, the county’s mental health program . She brings extensive experience in community assessment, program planning, implementation, evaluation and resource development and has presented workshops on these topics at local, regional and state conferences.
