Biographical Sketch:
Jennifer Friedberg obtained her Ph.D. in clinical health psychology in 2006. She has been working at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System since June 2006, as the lead interventionist and recruitment coordinator of a VA-funded study to improve blood pressure control through a behavioral intervention. She is also a faculty member in the Division of General Internal Medicine of the Department of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine. In July 2008, she was awarded a 4-year Scientist Development Award from the American Heart Association (AHA) to determine whether tailored behavioral intervention can significantly reduce blood pressure and increase adherence to treatment recommendations among veterans with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack. Her primary research interest is to develop and test behavioral interventions to reduce cardiovascular disease risk factors.
