Biographical Sketch:
Bio – Dr. Betty Perez-Rivera Dr Betty Perez-Rivera is currently the Director of the East Harlem Asthma Center for the East Harlem Asthma Center of Excellence, an initiative of the East and Central Harlem District Public Health Office of the NYC DOHMH and Go Green East Harlem Initiative of the Manhattan Borough President. Prior to this appointment Dr. Perez-Rivera served as the Director of the Childhood Asthma Initiative of a major non-profit agency. She has taught as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Borough of Manhattan Community College and guest professor at Columbia University and NYU as well as presented at various local, national and international conferences. Dr. Perez-Rivera has over 15 years experience in public and community health. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist. Dr. Perez-Rivera holds a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Health and Behavior Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Masters in Allied Health and Management from Hunter Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
