Biographical Sketch:
Marilyn Batan is a member of the Translation and Dissemination Team, Healthy Communities Program (former Steps Program) in the Division of Adult and Community Health at the CDC. She serves as their lead liaison to their Web site development team developing toolkits, communication guides and other products for the Program’s funded communities. Marilyn is a former fellow with CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity where she updated the Community Guide chapter on worksite obesity and related promising practices. She also translated and disseminated materials for the Division’s worksite website programs. Marilyn holds a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and a masters of public health from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before coming to Atlanta, she worked as a policy fellow and special assistant to Virginia Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine on their Healthy Virginians Initiative and during VA’s 2006 Legislative Session.
