Biographical Sketch: Dr. Katherine (Kate) Karriker-Jaffe is an Associate Scientist with the Public Health Institute’s Alcohol Research Group in Emeryville, CA. Her research focuses on understanding the role of neighborhood, social network and individual psychosocial factors on the development of health risk behaviors, with a particular emphasis on how community determinants create racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in alcohol use and its consequences. She is a member of the American Public Health Association’s Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Section and Women’s Caucus.
