Biographical Sketch: Amanda Horowitz, M.S.W., is Project Director at the Center for Addictions Research and Services at Boston University School of Social Work. In this role, Amanda is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Mobile Health Initiative Evaluation, a project funded through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Prior to arriving at BU, Amanda worked as a Child Sexual Abuse Helpline Coordinator and as a case manager at a specialized-treatment day school for adolescents and children in western Massachusetts. Amanda’s professional interests include the social determinants of health outcomes, health disparities, HIV/AIDS prevention, and health reform policy.
