Biographical Sketch: Betty Izumi is an Assistant Professor in the School of Community Health at Portland State University. She will be co-presenting a study from her postdoctoral research fellow with the Kellogg Health Scholars Program at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Since 2008, Betty has been working with the Healthy Environments Partnership, an on-going CBPR project designed to examine and address aspects of the social and built environments that contribute to disparities in risk of cardiovascular disease in Detroit. Betty will be co-presenting with Bernadine Hosten, a community health promoter who also works with the Healthy Environments Partnership.
