Biographical Sketch: Dr. Gopal Sankaran is the interim Assistant Vice President for International Programs at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He is also a tenured, full professor in the Department of Health. Gopal is an invited adjunct member of the Center for Evidence Based Practice at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He currently serves as a Governing Councilor of APHA from the International Health Section and chairs the Global Health Connections Committee of the IH Section. Gopal has a doctoral degree in medicine and board certification in maternal and child health care from India. He completed both a master’s and a doctoral degree in public health from the University of California at Berkeley.
