Biographical Sketch:
Ms. Allison Gertel-Rosenberg serves as Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of the Vice President of Policy and Prevention at Nemours – a child health organization based in Florida and Delaware. She is currently leading the organization’s effort to quantify the social return on investment of Nemours’ investment in prevention – focused on healthy eating and physical activity. Ms. Gertel-Rosenberg maintains a key role in local and national planning, acting as advisor on important strategic and operational matters and managing special projects including national collaborations and executive communications. Previously, Ms. Gertel-Rosenberg was the Program Manager for the Office of Policy Development for the Division of Addiction Services at the New Jersey Department of Human Services. In that position, she was responsible for supervising a staff of researchers engaged in addiction-related research and overseeing treatment-related data collection and analysis. Ms. Gertel-Rosenberg was also the Research Manager for the Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program at the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) in New Jersey. She has presented at national conferences on the value of investment in childhood health, patterns of drug abuse, assessment of prevention programs efficacy, youth smoking cessation, and how to develop statewide anti-tobacco media campaigns. She has also published a number of articles on drug abuse trends and youth smoking cessation. Ms. Gertel-Rosenberg received her M.S. in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health and her B.S. in Public Health from Rutgers College.
