Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Tracy Delaney is the Director for the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency’s, Communities Putting Prevention to Work Program. Her work focuses on healthy nutrition and increased physical activity through policy, systems and environmental change. Tracy has led innovative, multidisciplinary collaborations linking health with planners, transportation engineers, elected officials, real estate developers and community residents. She serves as Chair of the Government Domain of the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative and manages the County’s Chronic Disease and Health Disparity programs. Dr. Delaney is actively working on the Health and Human Services Agency’s Health Strategy Agenda addressing health equity, community design and the social determinants of health. She holds a doctorate in Nutrition from University of California, Davis, is a registered dietician and a certified Health Fitness Director with the American College of Sports Medicine.
