Biographical Sketch: Jason Smith is an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Division of Public Health Law and Bioethics. He received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law and his Masters in Theology from Harvard. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, his research focuses on complex legal systems using social network analysis with traditional qualitative and legal analytic approaches; disparities based on race and ethnicity; unintended consequences of public health laws; and problems of implementation. He has done research on childhood obesity and food systems and on GLBT youth and violence prevention. He coordinates the JD/MPH degree program offered by UCONN Law School and UCHC.
