Disclosure statement:

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: My dissertation research dealt with analysis of physical activity data to prevent obesity in children and adolescents. I recently completed a nutrition and physical education intervention for the middle & high school groups at our local Boys & Girls Club. My current work continues to focus on chronic disease prevention through secondary data analysis. I also recently completed a book chapter on the relationship between obesity and diabetes with particular emphasis on childhood obesity in the black community for the book "Diabetes in Black America" that will be released in December 2009. Finally, I have some work with students on analyzing Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance (YRBS) data to look at factors associated with high risk sexual behavior, including issues of body image, partner violence, and other emotional health issues.
