Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: My dissertation research dealt with analysis of physical activity data to prevent obesity in children and prevention of diabetes and CVD in low-income post partum women. My research during my postdoctoral fellowship examined social and behavioral risk factors for CVD and diabetes among blacks and latinos, including obesity. My current work continues to focus on chronic disease prevention through secondary data analysis. I also recently completed a book chapter on the relationship between obesity and diabetes with particular emphasis on the link to CVD in the black community for the book "Diabetes in Black America" that will be released in December 2009.
